The voice of experience is so comforting and encouraging to one trying to get going with one's own writing. Thanks for taking the time to detail how you do it, Sandra.

I hated to write back in school.

But then I saw a video about newsletter and that I can write about anything. That somehow unlocked a new door for me.

Hey there. I just love the question--where do your ideas come from. <G> I answer, life. Just pay attention. As far as production, I tell young writers to practice BIC, or butt in chair. It's the only way to get words on the page. Set a schedule and plan a day off for yourself when you can. You'll be a better writer.

To quote you: ‘I do still write MOST days, but somedays I give in to my desire to garden, or sew, or read, or do nothing much at all.’ Pretty much me too, except I make boxes instead of sew, and I cope with intermittent pains and aches, always one seemingly waiting to replace another. Right now it is toothache as I wait for root canal work a month from today. Oh, I also feed the birds and a field mouse which braves the daylight to join them (despite having an urban back garden). And I sleep too. Another enjoyable read Sandra.🐰

Thank you, Sandy. Be gentle with yourself. I'm always reading how other writers go about it. It's very rare to be able to tap into the flow at will. But if you don't sit down and write something, the flow can't reach you.
