I just finished reading Happiness Falls and loved it. I have Jessica Pan’s book on my list. My next book will probably be Congratulations the Best is Over by R. Eric Thomas.

Yikes! That is a lot of reading Sandra! Sounds like you could take a course in law while eating breakfast. 🤣 Just kidding you. 🤗 Must say the Lady Tan book sounds good! I love word games too! We played a lot of them when I was a kid and I still do when I am passing time waiting for a bus or trying to get to sleep. Here's one online that gives me a bit of a workout each morning:

On Saturday I bought ‘Mona of the Manor’ by Armistead Maupin and ‘The Wild Men: The Remarkable Story of Britain’s First Labour Government’ by David Torrance. In the past few weeks I have bought other books and took a photo of them for my next post (both of us taking pics of books). I will copy the pic to Notes in a few minutes. The fact that you follow 85 Substackers calls for a lot of ‘Wows!’🐰

Currently reading Democracy Awakening by Heather Cox Richardson and A Woman is no Man by Etaf Rum. I recommend both.

I have just finished an older book by Jodi Taylor, it's the first in a fantasy series so I'll probably read more. I'm now reading Butter by Asako Yusuki, it's pretty long and translated from Japanese. It's supposed to be a thriller but it's mostly about food so far.

A P.S. Sandra. Susan and I have just read Heather Cox Richardson. Thanks for the introduction. Despite the protestations, Trump has plenty of allies in the U.K. One of our life quotes is “We're here to provide for all those who are weaker, hungrier and more battered and crippled than ourselves. That is our only certain, good and great purpose in earth” — Michael Foot MP, then Leader of the Labour Party, speaking in Lewisham, London, 26 May 1983 quoted in the Daily Mirror, 8 June 1983.

Sadly, the majority of our generation have continually allowed themselves to be duped into betraying the present in return for promises of fair and just futures never realised. And the Labour Party, of which I have been a member since 1960, has all too often been party to that betrayal, and will be again when we have our General Election later this year. Trump has plenty of friends in strange places. You know them by their silence and here in the U.K. it is deafening! 🐰

After receiving a book by Maira Kalman as a gift, I then bought copies of "Women Holding Things" to all the significant women in my life. She is fascinating and fun. Nice list of books here, Sandra!
