As I sit on our sofa drinking a cup of weak black Assam/Earl Grey tea and eating half a small KitKat with my wife, I smiled and nodded at your reference to ‘prep time’, as I am convinced most recipe writers deliberately underestimate the time it takes to get a recipe ready for the oven, because if you thought it was going to take an hour you wouldn’t bother. I do like chocolate cake, but usually make a chocolate banana cake on the odd occasion I make one. My standby cake is a ‘tea cake’, made with sultanas soaked in tea overnight before flour is mixed in, and ‘coffee and walnut cake’, which a close friend makes every time we visit her or she comes to us. Lovely piece. 🐰
Thank you so much! Maybe recipe writers are like me when I'm sewing. I lose all track of time, and if asked re prep time, I'd have to guess. ha. Chocolate banana cake? That's a new one for me. Sounds good!
That cake sounds very rich, but oh so chocholaty. My favorite is cream cheese pound cake with lime glaze, also Aunt Inez butter cake. I also like a good applesauce cake with walnuts and raisins. I’m in search of an easy banana cake.
Oh Sandra! your Chocolate Mousse Cake sounds perfect! Until now, my favorite cake has been a chocolate cake with vanilla icing. Not sure I will make your cake as I am a non-dairy gluten free stinker. And these days all of my baking is done in a countertop oven. I love the countertop oven! I can convert many recipes to GF versions .... who knows I may find myself one morning getting up with the birds to start a small sheet cake!!! 😄👍✨🎈
This could be turned into GF and dairy-free. And since there isn't a lot of actual baking, you could do it on your counter-top. But chocolate cake with vanilla icing is good too! Thanks for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.
If you have room in your freezer, this one is easy to divide into slices, then you can wrap them individually and freeze them. I used to always do that with cakes, but no longer have freezer space.
Sandra- Whenever someone is sharing something onto something warm, something magical happens. Thanks for sharing!
Mm mm mm, this sounds so good. Coffee + chocolate = a divine combination. Thanks, Sandra!
You're welcome, Mead. Thanks for commenting!
I so respect and admire your creative process in not only baking a wonderful cake but inventing a whole new recipe.
Thanks, Pam.

Your cakes are always delicious and much better than mine.

All true Sandra! I just need to invite some company to prevent myself from eating it ALL myself! 😀🍰✨
